Why Wood?
Environmentally Essential
At N R Warne we are all to aware that humans put great environmental strain on the planet, we believe that wood is quite simply the best renewable resource on earth not only does it replenish the oxygen we breathe, it is a massively managed resource as for the most part for every tree cut down another three are planted and every single part of a tree can be used to help humanity.
Waste Not Want Not
When we get planks of timber in we cut it, plane it and shape it into an article of joinery, we send the saw dust and shavings to be made into fire briquettes insuring that even our waste isn't wasted.
Longevity
Although timber windows and doors are not maintenance free, they are easily revamped and replenished, unlike plastic or aluminium windows and doors which perish, fade and lose their new appearance over time, with wood it is very much a case of if you look after them then they will look after you, as can be evidenced by the windows you can see all over the country in well kept homes from the 17th or 18th century still sporting the windows and doors they were originally constructed with.
